CANNONHOLIC

by Bayu Yuliansyah | 2009

In this work, Bayu Yuliansyah has chosen smoking as a personal choice or inclination represented by the artist's soul. Interestingly, smoking is seen as something  reflective and introspective, pondering life and the natural universe. In fact, cigarettes are also described realistically , taking us one step closer to death with every pull of smoke.
However, at the same time, smoking for some people is accepted as an opportunity to take more time-off from reality, to reflect on what remains to be done before death comes along. This work highlights the fragility and trivia of life.
